Moraba

Despite the rain, sometimes people must leave their beloved area to dare to go further in the city and discover new places.

That's what happened recently when I went to Othmarschen, not because i was sick of Schanze, but random context, I have to tell.

We headed this restaurant I had spotted before : in the evening, it seems that they serve proper meals with meat like burgers or fish.

But on the week end, at lunch time, we can get scrambled eggs with optional avocado (you can get it everywhere nowadays, people are stil crazy about it), thin delicate slices of bacon, it felt like being back to London for real, onions, on top of the whole bread.

I spotted platter of pork meat, cheese and Prosecco (or was it Sekt, the local Champagne, included in the full brunch menu ?) there too.

It's funny that, because of the Italian inspiration of the place, when they serve usually meals, we had as a starter, sliced white bread (or baguette ?) with this fat gorgeous dip, that you get in Portugese, Greek, Italian restaurants, while we ordered a meal containing bread already.

Very important detail : you can hang your coat in most of the restaurants in Hamburg, I really like that. At Moraba, don't be scared, the coats are hidden in the fake corridor to go to the loo. But in Germany people trust each other, you can see that. And Othmarschen is a quiet, posh westside borough too.
